Easily the best economics podcast. Think The Economist but like good. It's accessible with interesting topics that generally focuses on the current news cycle but zeroes in on one. The second half typically focuses on a more novel topic say the economics of child birth. Adam is a renowned Economic Historian which is also a breath of fresh air, he understands Marxism its history and development which is rare for these kinds of shows. Very well researched show, comes out weekly on Fridays. Always a treat.
A well balanced podcast on contemporary China. It is an interview format ala Ezra Klein show but everything is about China. Great stuff. China is the largest geopolitical question of the times. Kaiser is not just well versed in Chinese history but also in comtemporary global business and geopolitical issues.
A podcast about the development of International Maoism but really it's about Mao. Particularly pre-revolution civil war era. Extremely detailed maybe unnecesarily so. The guy really likes Mao. Sometimes drifts off into how Maoism influenced some movements in South America. Kinda odd. Still interesting nothing like it.
Interviews with authors, particularly academics in the humanities. Just sesarch whatever topic you like. New Books Network Economics, Diplomacy, South East Asian studies. My latest fav episode: Jefferson Cowie, "Freedom's Dominion: A Saga of White Resistance to Federal Power" (Basic Books, 2022). In the political science section.
